Homemade Baby Food & Popchips Giveaway!

Hey hey hey!!!

I feel like I haven’t been able to catch up with work, family, heck everything since Gavin got out of the hospital and I went back to work. I’m constantly on the GO!

But it’s ok. Staying busy keeps me sane. Kind of.

Lets recap the past week or so.

Valentine’s Day we spent at home.

We’ve never really celebrated it for our entire relationship. We had planned on eating steaks, baked potatoes, and grilled veggies. Instead we had pizza, apple pie, and ice cream. Quite the difference. Ha!

The following morning I made sure to start my day off the right way.

Egg white and cheese on sesame ezekiel with my daily dose of Vemma and water. Perfection.

Later that day I snacked on half a brownie Quest Bar and half a cookies n cream, baked in my toaster oven until browned.

Who needs unhealthy dessert anymore? Ok, who am I kidding. I had apple pie and ice cream the day before. But seriously these are unbelievable. Top them with some protein ice cream. BOOM shakalaka!

This weekend I ventured out into the world of homemade baby food.

I’ve only made two kinds so far. Top: butternut squash. Bottom: sweet potatoes.

But they both went surprisingly well. I posted the costs on facebook. $0.13 a serving for the squash and only $0.06 for the sweet potatoes. Ya. You read that right. Unbelievable.

Gavin has only tried the sweet potatoes thus far but loves them!

Sunday we celebrated my mom and brother’s birthdays, and my sister brought this super easy, yet extremely dangerous dip.

Enter: Cake batter dip aka the you-can’t-walk-away-till-the-bowl-is-clean-dip.

That would be too hard to say though. So good job on whoever chose the title cake batter dip. Way to keep it simple, yet understated.

In the mix:
- 1 funfetti cake batter mix
- 2 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt
- 1 tub cool whip

Hey, it has greek yogurt. It’s healthy. #justifyithowyouwant

Side note. We took a family photo because it’s been a few months.

My little man is getting so big!

Time really does fly!

Love the BBQ pop chips. Fun fact – While in the Ozarks last year one of the girls with us brought us over to her Uncle’s house who runs Heartland Harvest (which is who manufactures/distributes pop chips in our area). Subsequently, we ended up with pop chips coming out of our ears for the rest of the trip!

I have only tried the barbecue and the sour cream and onion, but the sour cream wins by a hair. They are both delicious, and the texture and “pop” make them one of a kind.
