You’ll Never Believe what I Ate

Last Friday was the first half way decent day for me. My nausea was under control with a few minor issues and the headaches were somewhat tolerable.

I ate pretty good (and healthy!) all day until dinner. We met Brandon’s family out to eat and although my meal wasn’t the healthiest option, I was still pumped it was chicken.

It was the first time I had eaten chicken since January. Another food that made me gag to think about eating. It had a honey glaze on it, which I’m sure helped, but I managed to eat two of the three pieces you see there. #success

Saturday

I had to work in the morning then I set off for a full day of shopping. I had some final details to finish for my sister’s baby shower next weekend, a birthday present to buy for my brother-in-law, and a shirt to buy for myself for the shower.

Side note: this is not a fun time to go clothes shopping. I’m at the stage in my pregnancy that I don’t have a cute baby bump yet, I just look thick.

So, my first stop was Maurices, and needless to say, nothing was fitting right. The sales associate that was assisting me was super helpful and kept bringing me tons of things to try on. After a while I got frustrated. I ended up leaving with two shirts and a pair of jeans.

While I was shopping, I started to get really hungry. So hungry in fact, it was making me nauseous. I have begun to notice if I don’t eat something every 2-ish hours, I get sick to my stomach and need to eat ASAP.

It was my mistake not bringing snacks but I have to tell you this story in full so you’ll understand this purchase.

All I wanted was a pretzel from this place in our mall. I stopped in but the lady told me it would be at least a 10-15 minute wait. Remember how I need food ASAP? Ya. I couldn’t wait that long. My next thought was to have a philly cheesesteak from the food court but I didn’t think that would settle well. I quickly high tailed my way over to Panera only to find the line backed out to the street. It was 12:45. No wonder. I was on my way to Kohl’s so I figured I’d drive there and eat something near it. Well, I forgot the only quick restaurant near it was McDonalds and I absolutely refuse to eat there.

Are you still with me?

I headed back to Panera, waited in line behind 4 cars, and didn’t budge for 5 minutes. FIVE MINUTES. At this point I was having some pre-nausea problems, to say the least, so I jetted across the street to Burger King.

I haven’t eaten at a Burger King since at least high school, which was 8 years ago. And I don’t plan on eating at one again. I’m not a fast food lover. But in that moment, when I inhaled that JR. Whopper, it was the best thing I’d eaten all day.

Moral of the story: pack snacks next time.

I ended up buying my first maternity shirt at Target too. I don’t “need” it yet but it’s a plain bright orange T. I loved the color and it was only $12.

Breakfast

I had a bowl of shredded mini wheats.

And a few hours later, a pb&j on ezekiel. I’m thinking lunch will be leftover spaghetti from mom’s :)

All you mom’s out there: Where is your favorite place to find cute maternity clothing?
