I thought I was going to conquer my sickness yesterday. I started off the morning feeling pretty good.
I had a very early morning with 4 clients so I had a light breakfast.
I felt myself getting super nauseous just as I finished with my last client so I ate the sandwich I brought. Can you believe that’s my first bite of peanut butter since January. I can’t. But, sadly, even the thought of eating peanut butter sent my stomach swirling. I couldn’t bring myself to try it. Yesterday, I gave in. I had a pb&j on ezekiel which was a-mazing. I meant to make one for today too but I forgot. Boo. Anyways, I felt great after that meal. Still a little queasy but very tolerable.
A few hours later I was started to get that feeling again so I snacked on a Nature Valley protein bar. Within minutes I found myself elbow deep in a bag of oyster crackers.
I can’t win. I ended up snacking through the rest of that bag and it made me feel semi-ok until lunch time. I was getting nauseous because I was hungry then. It’s a lose lose. I get nauseous when I eat and when I don’t. #stubbornlittlechild
I had to run out to our other house so I grabbed some nachos from a local restaurant on the way out of town. I ended up only eating about 10 chips, but it was delish.
After meeting with the people installing our counter tops, I ran back to hang out with my mom for about a half hour before I had to be back to train. Also, for the first time in months, I craved chocolate.
3 thin mints did the trick! Don’t worry, I can count. I inhaled one before I took the pic
I had several more clients at night, a bowl of cereal for dinner, and then I got really really queasy. I will spare you the details but it resulted in me cancelling my last couple sessions. Fortunately, my clients have been extremely understanding. Almost all of them have kids and about half have been through this sickness garbage also.
I spent the rest of the evening like a bum, finished it off with a grape popsicle (you know, those ones that come in the plastic tube?) and was in bed by 815. That popsicle may have been the best thing I ate all day. I felt like I was eating non-stop. Part of me was doing it in hopes to conquer the sickness and partly I was hungry. But, when I calculated my calories, I only came up to 1755 for the day. I used to eat between 1600-1800 pre-pregnancy. They say to only add 300 calories a day so I wasn’t too far off. Granted, the calories aren’t coming from the best resources, but it’s good to know I’m not over doing it.
I’ve heard ginger and peppermint are supposed to help with nausea. I don’t like either of them but I may give the ginger tea a try.
Have any of you tried either of those to help relieve your nausea? Did it work?
What’s on your agenda this weekend?

Congrats!! So exciting!! I was super sick in my pregnancy- for 6 months!! Still gained 43 lbs… Lol! But try the preggo pop suckers and candies they sell at motherhood maternity I think also search for Pregie pops on amazon? Helped a little… I had 1/2 unisom before bed (prescribed by my dr) which really helped. Congrats again and sorry you’re sick!!!
Thank you! 6 months? You poor thing! I actually bought them online from Target yesterday so I hope they’ll help.
Have you every had crystallized or candied ginger? Sometimes I’ll have that when I’m feeling queasy but I’m never sure if its actually helping or if my brain just gets too busy going “yay, yummy ginger!” for it to notice that I don’t feel well.
Never heard of it. I’ll have to look into it. I think it’s a mental thing too lol! But it could work
Thanks for the suggestion!
