I know I’ve told you before but water is extremely important to your health. I used to be the girl that drank a bottle a day, IF that. Now, I can’t go a day without getting at least 100oz down or else I feel super dehydrated and weak. It’s incredible what water does for you. Aside from the obvious of literally flushing out your system, it clears your skin, and helps your hair, nails etc. The list goes on. A good rule of thumb is to drink about half your body weight in ounces – even more than that if you workout regularly.
Often times people mistake thirst for hunger also which can lead to bad decision making. You’ve probably heard it before but if you feel like you’re “starving,” drink a glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If you’re still hungry, eat something hearty and healthy like a piece of toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter or a greek yogurt with a 1/2 cup of strawberries mixed in.
Coffee and tea count towards your water goals too! My new favorite is by Panera Bread called Acai Berry Iced Tea. It’s a little bitter, much like all regular unsweetened teas, so I add a packet of stevia but mmm mmm.. it’s delish! Try it!
I challenge you – look at your water intake. How much are you drinking daily? Try to slowly increase it every day until you’re up to half your body weight in ounces. You’ll probably feel super full at first but give it a few days. Your body with get used to it and LOVE you for the extra hydration!
You only get one body; take care of it.
